Would that be the Random Layout (ECI2002R CMYK) or the Visual Layout

(ECI2002V CMYK) test chart? Or does that not make a difference?

If it does, what is each best suited for?

I see no advantages anymore in using anything BUT the random target. When
you think of it, the r target puts all the chances on your side. Ideally,
I'd spread two sets of random targets on a 28x40 sheets to capture as much
press variability as I possibly can.
As for the IT8.7/4 target, if I go from the minutes of the last CGATS
meetings I have, there is no consensus as to what the ideal target for the
US is? Or do I have this wrong? The IT7.7/4 has not found its way in any
profiling packages yet, as far as I know. So what other choices are there
other than proprietary CMYK targets and ECI2002 if one wants to use a large
press sample to build a profile from?
