It seems to me that the OS X installer doesn't always follow your choices and sometimes puts in gimp-print anyway- on new computers all of the optional drivers are installed by Apple. The easiest solution is to just run the uninstaller that can be found on the Gimp-print website: <http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php3>
