Subject: LUT's
Hi All
I'm having great trouble finding a clear explanation of how and when the
video LUT is edited. Can someone please confirm if the following statement
is correct.
The further your monitor calibration settings are from the target settings
in your profile, the more correction the profile has to do. This profile
correction takes place by adjusting the video card's LUT, which reduces the
of levels of brightness your monitor can display.
If this is correct, does it also mean that repeated calibration to 9300K and
profiling to 5000K would quickly render the monitor useless ?

Of course not. Each time you calibrate and profile you start from scratch.
Richard
