With the newer versions of ProfileMaker you have the ability to select "Spectral" in the device setup dialog. This pulls the full spectral data from the device rather than having the device calculate Lab/XYZ values and simply hand them over.
When you have the full spectral data you can select illuminants other than D50 and also enable correction for optical whiteners in the paper (if it is detected). Basically it gives you more options for profile building that can help match under odd lighting conditions.
