Paul,

This is not at all fair to you or the printer. Without a proof I'm afraid you can't take the printer to task. And the printer is probably scratching his head wondering what you're so pissed about.

In all likelihood they generated a proof for the pressman to run against. You might ask - if so you could compare to your final product. If it's a match then you could profile the proofer for use with this printer.
