Do you think Safari is using my monitor profile to display images? Or
generic RGB? It's obviously NOT using sRGB.
excuse me for butting in...
I posted versions of a few images to my website tagged with sRGB,
adobe98, colormatch, and appleRGB..
Then i used tabs to pull up a version each and when i switch between
the tabs I can detect no difference in the look of the images in Safari
(and PS).
This leads me to believe that safari IS color-managed !
If in PS I select "dont color-manage" and post that version it looks
very different in Safari as well as in PS.
The two dont match exactly however, but when they are tagged they do
match exactly.
I have 30 years as a photographer for major agencies and magazines -
just mentioning to validate my claim of "matching exactly".
When I drag the images off the webpage and open them in PS they are
still tagged and look exactly the same...
Most of my communication with clients is over my website - so this is
important to me.....
Safari does seem to work with CM and different profiles !
Explorer does also but you have to turn on CM in the preferences. The
image downloads funky to the page and then corrects..... Otherwise i
can detect no difference between the images tagged, as I described
above, in explorer also.
Now if I could only get my clients to calibrate and profile their
monitors - they could actually see what i see....
