Apologies if this query is below the general tech
level of conversations.
I'm a professional photographer working with a Nikon
9000 scanner and an
Epson 7600, working with a lot of older 35mm slides.
We've worked with
some great folks on color management (3 cheers for
rods & cones) but on
the source side, I've been frustrated with our input
scanner: I'm not
getting the clarity and sharpness I had expected from
the scanner.
I'm looking for reference materials on good scanning
technique. I'm
looking for books that expressly speak to those
issues; I see a number of
books that probably contain good general information
(Real World
Photoshop, Adobe Photoshop for Photographers, Adobe
Photoshop for Digital
Photographers... it's difficult to gauge what
distinguishes these books
from each other. I'm just wondering if folks here have
a favorite, or know
for a fact which has good techniques for capturing a
good quality scan,
and the best methods for enhancing sharpness once
captured. Thanks, and
again, apologies is this isn't considered "on topic".
