I don't like the new aluminum 20" because it has a
sort of 'grainy' or 'glittery' anti-glare coat that
the older one doesn't. The old 20" also seems to have
a less blue default whitepoint than other LCDs. A lot
of information sources indicate it gets great results
at 5000K, while most LCDs only get their best results
around 6500K.
Anyway, if anyone with an Eye One or some other such
device could tell me what the 'Native' whitepoint of
the old 20" is, I would love to know this information.
Also, if someone could post an .icc profile for the
old 20" or show me where I can download the file, this
would let me visualize the gamut for the old 20" in
ColorSync Utility so that I can compare it with other
LCDs for which I also have .icc/.icm profiles.
(Alternatively, if someone could email me their
profiles for the old 20", I would appreciate it. My
email is yay_frogs at yahoo.com. I'm especially
interested in 5000K and Native profiles.)
Thank you.
