Thanks for the additional information.
Without knowing the exact target "red" color it is impossible to know
the exact CMYK value that will make it.
I can tell you the gray aim point for the SWOP standard.
50% K, 50% C, 39% M, and 39% Y
Are your proofs and monitor reflecting the magenta cast that your are
referring to?

Hi Daniel,
We would need more information to help you.
CMYK is a device dependent color space. The values to achieve a certain
color depend on the output device you are sending it to.
What CMYK color space have you selected in the Color setup in Photoshop?
Are you working with a calibrated monitor? What is the white point?
Are your originals in an RGB color space? Which one...Adobe 98, sRGB, etc.?
Are you doing the RGB to CMYK separations in Photoshop?
Ray
We are using the U.S. Web Coated(SWOP) v2 and the U.S. WebUncoatedv2.
Are monitors are calibrated with the Eye One Display and ProfileMaker 4.1
software. The white of the monitor is D50 or 5000K.
Adobe RGB is the working color space for RGB and the images are coming from
a Leaf DCB 1 camera back with a profile made in ProfileMaker 5.0.
Yes. We are converting RGB's to CMYK in Photoshop.
