I respectfully suggest you look at the GMG product before making posts on or
why they take a different approach. Having worked with the product AND made
sample prints I can attest to the superior color match.
If you were to look seriously into the product you would find out how they
use iterative process to hone in on a superior color match.
Sorry, I don't have access to the product, otherwise I'd be happy to
run some tests. I'm also not going to hold back on making comments about
claims that seem to defy logic. If the claims about iterative profiling
have a sound basis, then it shouldn't be too hard for someone to explain
the principles on which it works.
Having spent some considerable time creating profiling software, I think
I have a fair grasp of the practice and fundamentals, as well as making
a few contributions to the state of the art, and nothing so far contradicts
my suspicion that iterative approaches are only good for tuning up a profile
to give low delta E's on a particular verification chart.
As for a "superior color match", yes, but compared to what ? You can't change
10 different variables apart from iterative vs. one pass, and claim it
proves anything about that one variable.
