I finished beta on Eye-One Dispaly2 and have a review in the works for
Professional Photo mag. I think the new hardware and software (Eye-One Match
3.0) finally gets GMB's display quality where it needs to be thanks to a
number of improvements. I think it's a close race between the new
hardware/software and the Optix XR Pro. I'd give a slight edge to the
Eye-One Display 2, at least on a difficult device like a Powerbook display
and I really like the ability to measure the ambient light in the
environment. I think the stat's provided by Optix Pro is really nice and
useful however and find the gamut map of the display provided by Eye-One
Match 3.0 kind of silly. You can't go wrong with either, they both provide
really excellent results which are pretty close. Cost, software features and
personal preferences will play a role in what you end up preferring.
