Origin of Adobe's Euroscale coated profiles/datasets

  • Subject: Origin of Adobe's Euroscale coated profiles/datasets

Following a recent discussion in this forum I've managed to enquire further
about the origin of the datasets used for generating the various Adobe
Euroscale profiles.

The source of this information is Peter Constable from Adobe who, I'm told,
have examined both the written documentation and enquired T. Knoll and two
other engineers involved in building the profiles.
I'm told that Adobe, in the near future, will publicise information about
what datasets all or most of their profiles are based on to avoid confusion.

The Euroscale Coated v.1 is based on a characterization of a Dupont proofing
systems (I don't know exactly which and didn't enquire as few people seems
to be using the v.1 profiles anyway).

The Euroscale Coated v.2 profile is based on the Fogra 1 dataset (ISO
12647-2).
