In my BEST ColorProof setup, I build profiles with PrintOpen v5. Use Fuji
FPsatin paper. Nice. I admit that I shy away from GCR, maybe out of
ignorance on my part but I find I am getting good results with UCR. Does
MaxK always implies GCR in ProfileMakerPro, to your knowledge? I have not
take the time to analyze this well.

Right. But I'm reluctant to go to that extreme. Perhaps with pigment or
Ultrachrome inks I should?

I do all my color conversions in InDesign and Photoshop and Illustrator
using my custom paper profile and only use BEST for the linearization. I am
not sure why? I think I seem to remember that there was a difference between
BEST conversions and Adobe's conversions. Have you found something similar?
