This issue has been clarified with v4 profiles with which this situation
should not occur anymore.
This is not correct on two levels:
1) Neither ICC v4 nor ICC v2 mandate the black point tag be present in profiles.
2) The presence of a black point tag doesn't solve the problem of devices
having different black points, and there being no standard mechanisms for
dynamic gamut mapping when linking profiles.
Adobe have done a great job in offering a BPC option which is consistent
in all their product range and which is not a secret sauce.
Can you point out to me the Adobe document that details the operation of Adobe BPC ?
