Hello,
It has been a very long time since I posted, so I will re-introduce
myself: I'm Nick Wilcox-Brown, a UK based Advertising Photographer. I
also do some consultancy and writing for Phase One, Canon Europe and
others.
I am processing RAW images to provide an accurate profiles for a Canon
DSLR using PM5
I have achieved very good results using Phase One's C1 where the output
can done with an embedded camera profile, effectively keeping colour
unchanged through the processing. I am keen to find a solution that
means I am not constantly recommending C1 (to avoid perceptions of
bias). Is there any way of achieving this with Photoshop CS or other
software? Initial tests that I have done with the camera set to shoot
in ARGB and then outputting from CS in the same space provides poor
results. I wonder if I am missing something?
Alternatively should the profile be done with JPEGs? I am reluctant to
go this way, but short of using C1 there seems to be little other
choice?
Thanks for any guidance.
