Howdy,
I just got my wife the new 20" iMac G5. It is a darn nice machine.
The screen absolutely blows away the LCD on her old G4 iMac, which
was basically un-calibratable.
I am considering using one at work in a "budget colorlab." I can't
see buying an AdobeRGB Eizo for a couple of years (Right now, they
retail for $6500 smackers.) Even the cheap ones are more than I'd
like to spend. I spent money on a nice EyeOne and some good software.
As I said, the old iMacs had awful screens, but this one seems far
better. We're not running a pro proofer shop here. I just want to be
able to verify that our profiles and image quality are up to snuff
without using the expensive snuff.
Any comments?
