If memory serves me correctly you can use a device link between the
press color space and the proofing color space. Given this, you can
preserve black with a device link.
Input files can only contain normal profiles be they RGB or CMYK. You
specify the press space with a CMYK profile.
I am no longer up to date on the current version of Prinergy. They may
have made addtions I don't know about.

Prinergy is ICC compatible. In the process plan you instruct Prinergy
what to do with files with and without ICC profiles. You can honor them
or ignore them. You can assign a profile to files that have none etc.

Can it do advanced things preserve black? Or support DeviceLinks?
