I have a publication on fonts written by Henk W. J. Gianotten.
Is that the same Henk?
Yes John,
My two passions are colors and fonts.
But important ingredients for printed material.
I worked for a typefoundry (Lettergieterij Amsterdam; Typfoundry N.
Tetterode) and was involved in the design and production of type for hot
metal, photocomposition and
PostScript. There is even a Linotype typeface LT Gianotten.
It's used for a.o. the house style of the City of Mailand.
But I was also involved in scanners (Crosfield and L-H) and color (GM and
Techkon) and was a great fan of LinoColor.
The developers of Color Pilot and LinoColor started color management based
on profiles, used the CIE-Lab-LH routines and their CMM was the starting
point for Apple's ColorSync.
And that's why I contribute to this list.
I write articles on fonts and printing technologies for a number of
magazines and if you search via google you can even find articles in
Brazilian and Argentine magazines.
Regards,
Henk
