Hello Roger,
you are right, the 'new interpolation' refers to the creation of the
LUTs in the profile. It effects both profile directions and all
rendering intents. The major aim was to increase the speed for the
profile calculation. It does not change the resulting color quality.
These changes are related to the new gamut mapping.

In the ReadMe notes accompanying the Updater, they say "better interpolation
alogorithm". Would this apply to both the Device to PCS and PCS to Device
directions?
I would think that interpolation means fitting the measured data with some
splines or triangulations to polulate the LUT.
