Contrast degradation in a Camera

  • Subject: Contrast degradation in a Camera

I have been evaluating a calibration system for digital cameras and I found a
possible problem:

The contrast is significantly degraded if there is a white object in the
picture. Net result is a reduced dynamic range.

This ought to affect the profiling of cameras. For the details see:

Is this problem isolated to my camera or is it generic to all or only some
brands of cameras?
