<Can anyone suggest of any such automated accurate pakage that I
could use to accomplish this task. Our company is in
desperate need of quality control tools for this, so
any help would be greatly appreciated.>
GMG has a package called ProofControl that does just that… using the eye-one. There is also ColorMetrix, their GcX package will support the eye-one.
<I tried to configure a way using
the control strip in GMG on the proofs and reading the
data in using Eye one and Profile Maker measure and
Compare tools to give me a Delta E reading
comparision. The problem is there are 46 patches which
have to be read one by one by hand…>
I had set up MeasureTool to do this exact function and it will work. Are you sure you have selected the correct mode when measuring (patch vs. strip with gaps/strip without gaps)?
and the Eye one
lacks some of the true densitometric features that
make this an easy and or accurate>
Not exactly sure what your expecting, but in my opinion, density and
dotgain values on an inkjet aren’t an accurate gauge of its color reproduction.
A colorimetric comparison (delta E value) should be all you need to if a proof
passes or fails.
