Hi Ole,
I think that Monaco OPTIX-XR and the Monaco OPTIX-XR Pro versions are
specifically for monitors only.

>From what you say I gather that your friend wants good CM results without
too much cost or complexity, so I would suggest you point your friend in the
direction of the X-Rite Pulse ColorElite which can be purchased in a bunch of
configurations (to satisfy cost issues). It supports the Pulse spectro and the
Monaco OPTIX-XR
(DTP94), produces excellent profiles for input, monitor and output devices as
either version 2 or 4 of the ICC spec.
As a photographer I can report that it is a delight to use.
