We have an Eizo L885 and
several Apple Cinema displays. The L885 does an alright job,...I profilied one
today using the Eye-One package...not bad, but the gamut isn't as big as the
Apple Cinema and therefore, suspect. The profile I made at native color
temp, gamma 2.2, and 120cd/m2 clipped a lot of the SWOP profile out.
If you were considering the Eizo monitor for color critical work, I
would look at the ColorEdge series. I've heard mixed opinions on the LaCie,
again not as good as the Eizo CGs. I believe you can still get the Sony Artisan,
but they're not manufacturing it anymore as I understand it.

It is finally time to retire my venerable old Radius PressView
monitor. I
am doing color critical photographic imagery in Photoshop,
and calibrate all
of my monitors with the Eye-One and Eye-One Match. I
am considering the
LaCie 321, Eizo FlexScan L885, or an Apple Cinema
Display. Any advice or
experience you can share, will be greatly
appreciated. Thanks.
