Need help with getting an Eizo CG210 to work on Windows XP
Current problem: Video displays fine on the
CG210. But, when ColorNavigator starts up, I get the following message “The
adjustment capable monitor cannot be found. The monitor cannot be
adjusted with the current status.
Hardware Configuration:
Windows XP machine
3DLabs Wildcat 4 7110 dual-head video adapter card
Monitor appears to be properly recognized in Windows Device
Manager with the following 3 entries:
Human
Interface Devices > EIZO HID Monitor Controls
Monitors
> CG210 Digital Landscape
Universal
Serial Bus controllers > EIZO USB Hub
The monitor was originally set up as monitor 2. But I
have since removed my main monitor (a Sony CRT) completely and the CG210 is the
one and only monitor and plugged into port 1 of the adapter card.
So far, I have tried two different CG210s, two different USB
cables, two different DVI cables, ColorNavigator v3, ColorNavigator v4 and
ColorEyes Display. ColorEyes also does not recognize the monitor as being
DDC capable. I removed the StartUp folder shortcuts for Monaco and there are no other LUT loaders in the startup folders (for either “all
users” or for my login).
The only thing that hasn’t been changed is the video
card. I called 3DLabs and they assure me that the Wildcat4 7110 is DDC
compliant. Even EIZO told me there should be no problem with the adapter
card.
So, I’m stumped.
Any suggestions?
Questions:
Since I don’t understand DDC, is this some
communications protocol that is carried in the DVI cable by the adapter card,
or is this what the USB cable is for?
If it *IS*
something that the adapter card must support, is there a way to test whether
the adapter is doing this properly or not?
Thanks in advance,
Michael
