I am stumped.
Today I selected three thumbnails, JPG's which I created with an
Action in PS and resized AND embedded sRGBxxxxxx latest version in CS.
The open fine in PS as the profile is embedded.
All that is expected.
But, the view in Spotlight large preview pane is very blue.
Is it very blue if you bring it into either iPhoto or Keynote or
Preview? I'm getting the same RGB values according to digitalcolor
meter, for a jpeg test file displayed in Photoshop and in a Spotlight
search window. And it doesn't matter whether I have thumbnails or
not, it's building its own preview.
Are you having Photoshop build full sized icons into your JPEGs? I
get a slight difference with "Full Size" checked. Slightly less red.
Nothing from WideGamutRGB to GenericRGB assigned looks the same.
Is there some convert to GenericRGB that goes on behind the
scenes?? Surely not.
As far as I can tell, with TIFF and JPEG images that do not have any
icon saved with them, they are displaying with embedded source to
display profile, with display compensation. If I build icons without
Full Size checked, the Photoshop icons are build using the numeric
values in the image, and on the desktop they appear wrong (without
the embedded profile being recognized), but in Spotlight the profile
is still honored and they look correct. If I build with Full Size
checked, then there's a discrepancy.
