Just curious, Roger, as an Imacon owner myself, how much better you feel they are vs the best Nikon, if you've seen results from one. I had read about the multiscanning option in the Nikon 9000 medium format scanner and wondered if it perhaps made less noise than an Imacon without a significant tradeoff in sharpness.
And for anyone who has used both the Flextight Precision II and newer models, is there any significant difference in shadow noise? I downloaded the latest software version recently and was pleased to see the color noise reduction feature, which seems to improve the image rather than damage it.
If any user(s) can provide a same-size snippet of a troublesome area within the same shot, among differing Imacon models, I'd be most interested to see how they compare. I presume they are improving the technology, but wonder how much real difference there is.
TIA, Gary Barnett
There is a new Minolta 5400 II I've seen recently. And there are the usual Nikon's. Other than those two, Canon may still have an offering into that segment and, of course, there are the Imacon which remain the best choices for top quality capture.
