I presume you're using OS X (probably Tiger), right?
Yes.
Most of the options are disabled unless you set Quality and Image Type
to Manual Control. In order to try to simplify the huge mess of
options, we've made most of the color controls (and a lot of the more
obscure printer controls) disabled if you use the preset Image Type
and Quality settings.
Even when Print Quality and Image Type are set to Manual Control, the
options do not become available. Set 1 is configured, in order, as
follows: RGB Color, Best, Premium Luster Photo Paper, Manual Control,
Manual Control, 1440 x 1440 DPI. I still have no access to any of the
options in Gutenprint Output Control Extra 1 2, including Color
Correction or Dither Algorithm.
Also, none of the uninstallers, gimp-print 4, gimp-print 5, or
gutenprint uninstall the gutenprint 5.0.0 beta 2 listings that came
preinstalled with OS X. So after installing beta 4, I have drivers
for every single printer twice. I do not think it was wise or
appropriate for Apple to ship admitted beta software in Tiger,
despite the new features and support available.
