We have 3 Artisans in our studio and there are 2 more across the street
in the Museum's studio. I also have several older Barco Ref Vs. We
recently added a couple Eizo's to the mix, as did the Museums. As has
been pointed out, there are advantaged and disadvantages to both CRT
and LCD technology at this point. But, the fact is, CRT is over and LCD
will continue to improve. I would not buy another Artisan at this
point. All 5 I've used suffer from bad to moderate problems with uneven
screen illumination, the dreaded magenta/green blotches. Every CRT I've
ever used has had this problem (We work with lots of light works on
paper, and I'm really picky). There are also convergence problems,
moderate flicker, some distortion,
Dear David
Could it be that there is a magnetic field problem at your
place....seems rather odd to have this level of problems form what is
quite a large sample of high end CRT screens. Having said that we find
that the Artisan is very sensitive to an A4 Wacom tablet being close to
it's front edge and have to keep it some way in front of it...not a real
problem but does seem odd. Never had that with a monitor before.
Cheers
Richard
