Which Rendering Intent are you seeing this through: perceptual or relcol? It
can only be perceptual because relcol can only be done one way. So the only
possible conclusion is that X-Rite has improved the gamut mapping for
perceptual rendering in 4.7>
It's true that you see a much larger difference between GM and Monaco in the
perceptual intent, but you can still see some significant differences
comparing how the two handle out of gamut colors using rel col. Try
converting a Granger rainbow using profiles from both GM and Mon. with rel
col and you'll see the difference (remember the holes in the blues with GM
from a thread a while back). You can see this in real world images
too...converting from RGB to CMYK, I see better mapping of blues, yellows
and reds using Monaco 4.7 with rel col...by "better" I mean it more closely
resembles the original RGB image.
