Now here is the problem: It seems that the white backing of the DTP41
is not white enough:
If I measure normally (e.g only the paper sample), deltaE is about 3.6.
If I measure with another blank sheet of the paper underlaying, deltaE
is about 2.6.
Has anyone else seen this, or is my DTP41 simply dying?
Yes, the backing can make a lot of difference, if the paper is
relatively thin. Generally we used 1 or 2 sheets of the paper,
under a test chart, both for the source chart and the destination
test chart. Easy for a SpectroScan, hard for a DTP41. We generally
found that a match of less than 1 delta E was desirable for
a good visual match, with 1.5 being acceptable.
