Mike, it sounds like a user rights issue. Make sure your
login has Administrator Rights because Windows has to write the profile to the “C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\color”
directory.
The last step is usually placing the profile in this
directory. And if the current login has insufficient rights, it will not allow
access to this directory.

I have a 30" ACD I'm trying to calibrate with an i1
display/i1 Match 3.
It's running off a WinXP machine and a NVidia Quadra FX 3400
video card.
I see that the 30" ADC Requires NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT
or Ultra DDL
Card, but never the less, it is displaying. The issue comes
in
calibrating it. I can go through the entire
calibration/characterization
process and right at the very last measurement patch, I get
an error
stating the profile cannot be created and to go back and
check my
settings. I've tried a number of different settings (ideally
native
white point, gamma of 2.2 and luminance of 120 or so) but I
still get
the error. I've also tried reducing the ambient light, but
not luck.
So...is it the video card do you think, or a PC thing, or
something
else.
I've calibrated a 30" on a Mac with the NVIDIA GeForce
6800 with no
problems.
