How are you checking for that?
At least these three different methods can be used:
- using routines built around the PGMA package (requires programming)
- converting the Lab target in Photoshop with the profile, relcol
intent, and
then back to Lab. Those colors that have not moved too much (say 2~3dE)
must be in gamut. Comparison is done in ColorLab or MeasureTool.
- using the ICCtrans (V1.8) tool from LittleCMS (freeware)
Icctrans -i*lab -o*null -g -p OutProfile.icc <labdata.txt >output
Labdata.txt is a file containing the LAB coordinates of my test chart.
Result is 255 for out of gamut colors, 0 otherwise.
