Hi, I would like to profile uncoated papers with a epson 2100 and
maybe a epson 7600 with an Eye-one Photo. I should be very gratefull
if you could give some advices to start with. Will I need a RIP for a
better control of the ink amount? Which one?. Which colochart will be
the best in your opinion?
It shouldn't make a huge difference that the paper is uncoated...the
approach will be the same. I would use the TC9.18 chart for sure. You
will have to experiment with different media settings depending on the
ink load characteristics of the paper, but I would probably start with
the Watercolor Paper - Radiant White and Enhanced Matte media settings.
Uncoated papers can have their own look...but contrast will suffer due
to the lack of a decent D-max.
Good luck,
