Hi Andrew, Rob,
I´d be careful though if other than "well behaved" matrix profiles are
involved. If you load and save an sRGB or LStar-RGB profile in
photoshop and save it under a different name, you will also have
changed the tonal response curve to a gamma value. In the case of sRGB
the change may be visible but tolerable, in the case of LStar-RGB, you
end up with a completely different profile. I suggest to use the
ColorSync utility for renaming and test extensively, if Tiger can
digest these new "Generic" RGBs.

I went into Photoshop's color settings. Adobe RGB (1998) is loaded. I
clicked on "Save RGB" and saved it with the name "Generic RGB
Profile icc. "
and saved it to the desktop. You can't save into the main Library
folder. I
moved that profile into the Main Library (original Generic RGB
Profile is
moved out). Authenticate to move the profile into place.
I think this will work to "fool the system" but you'll have to test
it out
(I don't have capture).
Thanks for the further explanation. I'd misunderstood the part of the
suggestion where I'd make a *new-and-improved* Generic RGB from Adobe
RGB as
you describe.
