What happens when you just convert to your 1280 profile with the
ConvertToProfile command: do the colors looks just as bad?
I have not tried this. I will give it a go.

Did you trash your Preferences?
I have not trashed the Preferences but I will check to see if the preferences have been corrupted. I will back up the Prefs. on an external drive then let PSD rebuild them and check the results.

So it could be something to do with uncle Bill?
That is what I am thinking.

Never had something like that behavior here. Hope you won't have to
reinstall...
