I agree, but the color temperature you perceive is based on both rod and cone response by your eyes. As it gets darker, the rods carry a proportionally larger percentage of the load, and the result is that you see "bluer"... thats why, to compensate for this effect, a monitor is calibrated "yellower" (5000k) for working in a dark room with a dim CRT than in a room with more ambient light and a brighter LCD (6500k). Your eyes see color relative to illuminance, while the measuring device does not.
