Digging through Tiger (10.4.1), I found some strange behaviours:

If I open a Photoshop-PDF with embedded profile in Preview, there is no Profile info. The Tools->Edit (I dont know if that menu name is correct in english) is greyed out. If I save as PSD or Tiff, the profile is lost. Huh?

Anyone willing to confirm and comment this?
