Title: Epson 4800 as Proofer
I’d like to solicited opinions about the best way to utilize a desktop inkjet printer such as the Epson 4800 with Ultrachrome K3 inks as a proofer for various RGB and CMYK large format devices.
All printer/media combinations are profiled using ProfileMaker 4 and either a DTP 41 or a GMB spectrolino/scan.
My initial plan was to use iQueue to setup various workflows using simulations for each device, but since I am just setting this up, I’d like to get others opinions as well before I get too deep into this.
I’ve purposely left this a bit vague, as I don’t want to restrict this discussion to just my situation, but rather leave it open to how best to accomplish a real world proofing workflow.
