What is the native white point of this specific screen ?
I'm not sure that it will help you but I noted in the past that some Apple
LCD has their white point set to a too low value (below 6000K). Then in this
cases when you calibrate at 6500K it seems to not help on the low part of
the brightness depending on the calibrator/software combo that you use.
Having more Vram will not help you on the video card. But the quality of the
display chip on the card varies a lot between manufacturer and for some
reasons the combination of this video card and a Cinema Display could be
more problematic that this same card with LaCie monitor.
It is not very helpful. A good maybe to find a different video card and try
it in the same computer and see. These Apple display are not as good as what
apple claims. So it is possible that it is the display to show this
behavior. I calibrated some 23" cinema display recently and honestly, I
would not buy one. Your mileage may vary. A LaCie 321 seems to be better.
A+
