My guess...originating profile is V2 and you are mixing profiles when you use a v4. This can cause weirdness like this due to changes in the spec.

Image comes through with profile embedded but image is a flat light gray tint.0-c 1-m 2-y 20 k
Switch profile to v2 and its all OK.
Using GMB 5.05 v4 profiles it comes out Dark..... 99-c 2-m 12-y 99-k
Anyone else seeing this behavior ?
