To be fair to them, I understand their justifiable fear at using a new
technology (new to them) when what they have been doing for decades so far
has been working well for them. As Rolf wrote earlier, color management is
still a circumscribed, elite type of knowledge. It will take time for it to
become mainstream -- yes, even longer than the several years that it has
been around already. In the eyes of many traditional printers, the theory
hasn't yet proven itself to their satisfaction (and possibly never will), or
perhaps they haven't even heard of it at all.
The best we can hope for in these cases is to understand each other the best
way possible, and to tailor our approach to the type of printing company we
are working with. It's either that, or dying of a heart attack way too young
from all the grief...
