I'm going to have "sit down" with the owner and the color-guy next
week. Both were gone this week. I've known them both forever, so they
ought to listen. ...whether they do anything is another question.
I imagine that photo labs have been pretty hard hit as the world goes
digital, but it's like the old-line engravers of a decade or two ago.
They had to adapt or go under. The ones I knew that tried to tread
water eventually disappeared from sight.
So far this lab has had the sense to come out of the wet and the dark
and invest a chunk of change in a nice processor, but why they would
drop a quarter-mil on the Lightjet and skip the 10K for a Spectralino/
PM, I don't know. The LJ is four-years old, and I can't imagine them
getting trained on it without someone mentioning color management.
