Hi -- I am a long-time lurker on this list with over 14,000 messages
in my current colorsync mailbox. (I'm sure that's not a complete
collection as there have been various catastrophic message-destroying
events and house-cleanings over the years!)
I see what I think is significant banding on my display in the region
between blue and cyan when using Adobe RGB. In a spectrum gradient
this appears as de-saturated blues leading to a sharp vertical edge
on the cyan side of the blue region. This is not present when I
switch to proof: Monitor RGB in Photoshop. I'm using an Eizo L887 and
an EyeOne Display2 to make the profile.
Having read the "Profiling a Dell UltraSharp 2405FPW LCD" thread, I
have tried various methods of preparing for profile creation, including
-- adjusting the "brightness" (Eizo OSD) to 75% (achieves Match
recommended LCD brightness)
-- leaving the "brightness" (Eizo OSD) set to 100%
-- adjusting the RGB values in "gain" (Eizo OSD) to achieve Match
recommended LCD brightness
-- leaving the RGB values in "gain" (Eizo OSD) set to 100, 100, 100
Any suggestions or explanations?
Many thanks, Phillip
