I can't find the source, but I seem to remember hearing that Aperture
will store its changes in an SQL database. I'll try to post a link as
soon as I find it again.

For those of us who use a DAM like Portfolio Server, keeping the
editing data with the raw data file is a big concern. Dissociating
the raw data and the editing info is an invitation to disaster.
