Hi Nathan,
Yes, that's my point. The question, however, is can we expect Nikon and
Cannon to be a partner with Apple to ensure that Aperture has full
access to all the secrets of their proprietary RAW format. I seem to
remember Nikon not appreciating other products reading their
proprietary RAW format in the past. I would hate to see firmware
updates to my camera break Aperture.
So if anyone out there can comment. Can we expect finger pointing
between Apple and the camera manufactures when firmware changes and
things stop working perfectly, or are they working together behind the
scenes to make sure that situations like that simply never happen.

On Apple's web site it's mentioned that Aperture supports Nikon and
Cannon RAW files. I thought that these were proprietary formats. Does
anyone know whether Apple reversed engineered the formats, or did they
do a deal to get full access to both formats.
All raw formats are proprietary.
