I'm not really sure if you're looking for feedback or not, but some general
observations and problems I encountered while trying to find out more about
what you're offering:
* Your website makes finding information incredibly difficult. Any attempt
to return to the primary menu page results in an annoying Flash animation
whose slothy flickering and scrolling must be viewed over and over and over
again before the links appear, and once they finally do, I encountered
several that are broken. Those that do work typically contain nebulous
statements and claims devoid of any justification that just left me
confused.
This being the case, I was unable to discern what exactly the product even
is without reading your list post, and what OS it runs on is still a mystery
to me.
* From the looks of it (http://www.zbetterscan.com/color targets.html),
your software builds profiles from a 9 patch target. VueScan Professional
can build profiles from standard IT8 targets as well as control most any
consumer model scanner on the market today for about $80. SilverFast, which
you claim to interface with somehow, can also build its own profiles from
these same targets. Anyone who owns it would probably not have any need of
your product, and don't forget about Argyll, which is completely free.
You claim the value your product offers is its ease of use and bundled
documentation, but again, there is no evidence of this anywhere on the site.
What little text is there is ambiguous and vague, and if the site design is
any indication of the software's UI, this is simply not encouraging.
* No demo available, and no screenshots. Since you don't have the budget for
marketing and don't provide much information about the product, this is
pretty much a necessity. It may be the greatest profile generator the world
has ever known, but I suspect very few people are going to shell out $45 to
find that out with its current presentation.
Just my two cents as a consumer, user, designer and software engineer. There
may very well be a niche for you out there, and I encourage you to keep at
it, but I think a lot more work is needed before you start advertising
unless you're going to make it open source.
