Coming from you Andrew I'll take what you've said as an endorsement.
Many of the points you mention are what disappointed me in the 2.0
version.
The fact that I was trying to use it to "fix" profiles written with
much less mature profile generation software (than what I'm using now:
Monaco PROFILER 4.7b55) may have added to my frustration.
I'm still put off by the price however unless there's a discount
available.

Doing everything on an adjustment layer is the idea edit list.
