I know some members of the list already have working units in their
hands
and could elaborate.
I have the Nec SpectraView LCD2180 Wide Gamut LED for test right now,
and I have a mixed feeling about this monitor. Although the color gamut
is impressive, especially the reds and greens, I do see a problem with
the rendition of a grey ramp. Especially in the shadow areas it isn't
as smooth and even as I would like it to be. When I tried to profile it
to a brightness of 120 cd/m2 the problems got worse. But even when I
used maximum brightness there were severe problems in the extreme
shadows. Compared to an Eizo ColorEdge, the Eizo is much smoother.
