I think we have not to loose track of the fact that in order to
benefit from WCS, when and if that ever happens, we *will* have to
use Microsoft Windows, in one form or another. Why? Because WCS
will only be available on Windows, thereby locking us all to Bill
Gates's wealth. Unless Apple decides to licence the technology from
MS, the only place any applications will ever be in a position to
use WCS is on a PC using Windows OS. Period.
Not to mention Linux, Solaris, etc.

Well, if the introduction of WCS is going to prompt Apple to react
then it might be a good thing. Apple is sitting too much on its
laurels and has stopped innovating in color. It seems they are more
preocupied with riding the iPod growth curve than anything else --
and with reasons, from a business management perspective.
Lack of competition tends to be bad for everyone.
