colorsync utility... again

colorsync utility... again

I just upgraded from Jaguar straight to Tiger. I know I know...
Anyway, for both Epson and Canon printers I now see a profile associated with each printer in the summary of the print dialogue. When opening the colorsync utility I see what looks like various Epson and Canon icc profiles assigned to the printers, hidden away in interesting little folders. The confusion is my fault as I was not observant enough in my Jaguar days to see if this has been happening all along.
I want to handle my printing color management in the Adobe print with preview dialogue, not in the system or in the driver. The current setup would imply that I am double converting. There is no "none" selection in the colorsync utility. I thought I was getting no color management behavior in Jaguar, perhaps I wasn't. Is there some way to assure proper behavior with the colorsync utility in Tiger? Should I be selecting genericRGB there, assuming it would let me?
Just want to properly print charts, then color manage with proper profiles in Adobe. You know, like the old days.
Thank you, I feel like I'm back to square one...
Tyler
